It's been a very busy holiday season.

We will now be performing under the name The Students of Flamenco Dance Project.  There may still be some Studio 3 opportunities, but since most of our gigs have been coming through Flamenco Dance Project, it's just easier to think of us as both.

This year, we'll be featured in the Spanish Dance in the Urban Nutcracker.  Very exciting.  We're in the middle of rehearsals now and opening night is Saturday.

In September, we performed at the Newmarket Heritage Festival.

Fruitlands

What a great night. It was such a lovely venue, perfect weather, and we did a great performance. The hours of rehearsals really paid off.

And we just heard some very positive feedback from the Executive Director of BalletRox who loved our numbers. He said we added to the diversity mission and intent of BalletRox. Hopefully we'll have more opportunities to perform with them in the future.

Here's a photo of us all.

A Slippery Slope

And it was. That floor was slippery and tilted. So, definitely a challenge that threw some folks off. Next year....ROSIN!

But, it was ultimately a success. No one fell. We all had fun. The crowd was appreciative.

Some numbers were stronger than others. When we were on, we were great.

We hope The Fireplace will have another festival next year. And, Amy promised to bring the Rosin.

It's been a while...

Not that we haven't been busy though with team members performing at Tony Williams Annual Show and other events.

We will be performing on June 11th, 7:30pm at the Latin Music Festival at the Fireplace in Brookline.

We're really excited for several reasons:
1) This was our favorite gig from last year. The food is excellent. The crowd was appreciative. It was well organized. Everyone had a good time.

2) This year we'll be joined by a live guitarist for a couple of numbers. Roberto Rios.

3) We've got a few familiar favorite numbers lined up and an excellent new sevillanas.

So, we're pretty excited.

Mayfair Done and Done

Despite all the challenges, Mayfair was a pretty decent performance. We were definitely happy to be performing a dance that requires shoes since the barefoot dancers were all in visible pain. The sun was bright and the stage was black. Not a very good combination.

Next will be the Tony Williams End of Year Compendium on June 6th.

Then City Year in late July. I think Midori is contemplating the bata sevillanas for City Year this year. Another chance to get our money's worth out of the batas.

After that... We shall see what happens next.
